It's about packaging...

NonClinical Diagnosis Re-Packaging Implementation

As a marketing executive in health systems, with leading database marketing firms and at McKesson Corporation I've learned the importance of packaging. As an old friend often said, "being good isn't good enough, you have to be able to present yourself as the best." That's what "writing your prescriptions" is all about, creating your campaign package to take you forward and to present you in the best possible light.

 

Below is a list of the most common campaign materials developed for our clients. It's not exhaustive, and you may need something a bit different, but it should get you thinking about what you might need.

 

Accomplishments and Core Competencies – What have you done and what is its value? That’s the essence of developing a list of accomplishments we’ll help you wordsmith to fit your target career outcomes. Once an appropriate accomplishment list is created, we’ll then arrange them into a set of core competencies that will form the heart of your resume, your letters and your overall campaign message.  

 

Resume – Most accomplished executives, from middle managers and above, benefit from a competency and accomplishment based resume. After completing our resume development exercises, we will shape this information into a resume that will better position you based on your accomplishments and skills.

 

Letters – Letters help open doors, supplement your resume and focus hiring agents on your most important accomplishments. Letters also help you “stay on message,” reinforcing your accomplishments and providing talking points for ongoing communications. We will work with you to develop a contacts letter for your campaign (and if we later determine appropriate, a recruiter letter and a business leader letter).

 

Elevator/Stump Speech – The elevator speech is so named because you should be able to say it riding an elevator between floors. As such, it is 60 to 90 words (20-30 seconds) in length and tells who you are, what you are or want to be doing, a qualification and how that person can help you. You’ll use it in meetings, on the phone at “meet and greets,” and many other events and encounters.

 

Phone Script – Meeting new people on the phone can be very difficult as can leaving meaningful messages to people we don’t know. We work with you to develop an introductory script and phone message to alleviate the pain of these first meetings.

 

Business Plan – some endeavors require a formal plan whether for funding, or the development of other levels of support. We will assist in development of an initial draft B-plan with appropriate organization and content.

 

Web Site – The web is growing in popularity and appropriateness as a business mechanism, a personal statement venue and as a means of establishing creditability for new endeavors. When appropriate we will assist with initial structure and content for a two to three page web site.  

 

PowerPoint® presentation – The language of consulting is the PowerPoint presentation. As one industry expert put it, you must follow the “10/20/30” rule in developing and delivering PowerPoints. We’ll help you develop your “10/20/30” presentation for  maximum  impact and outcome.  

 

Brochures and other marketing collateral – packaging and promoting your personal/professional expertise sometime requires leave-behinds. From brochures to face sheets, we’ll provide the framework for printing and producing the materials you need.

 

Contacts List – you have contacts and they will likely prove to be the greatest single resource to your campaign. We’ll help you develop and prioritize your list as well as structure the communications.

 

Coaching for career focus and development, presentation of credentials and developing your contacts. Weekly meetings will be scheduled to review and discuss the issues and topics of most benefit to your campaign.

 

Face Sheet: A one-page promotional sheet detailing your service, expertise and qualifications.
